Learn to share, you chose each other!

A guy who has no job got married to a banker, despite his fears and several advices that it's not good to marry without a job. Every month the girl would give the guy her full salary of N135k after removing her tithe. The guy would give the wife N20k for personal upkeep and the guy
determined what happened to the remaining money.

This happened for three good years. There was happiness in the family and the wife never refused to do her primary home duties for that 3 years, despite wrong advice from friends that "You can't be paying the bills and still be doing all the work".

There was a particular month the guy used about N70,000 to travel from state to state for different interviews. He finally got a job with a good firm in Port-Harcourt. His salary was N600,000 monthly for a start. He bought his first car (brand new) for N4.5m, gave the key to the wife and continued to take public transport to work for about two years.

Then he bought the second car for N6 million. He collected the keys of the first car and gave his wife the keys of the second car. They were very happy. They eventually moved into their own house after some few years.

One day, the wife was looking for some documents and stumbled on a file neatly hidden. When she opened it, she saw her wedding picture when she was very slim in the first page of the file. She then saw that the document to the purchase of the land and every other thing in the house were all written in her name!

At the last page was the husband's wedding picture and a note written by him:
''MY WIFE IS ALL I HAVE GOT. NOT EVEN THIS HOUSE, THAT COST ME
N24M AT THE TIME I BUILT IT, IS MINE''.
This couple got married in 1998. Last Sunday was their wedding anniversary with two children, a boy and a girl. True LOVE still exists till this day. Are you sure the love you have for Him/Her can be compared to this one you just read? No matter what, remember you choose each other. So share...it doesn't matter who puts food on the table.

It is good to be back after some days off due to the 'palava' of connectivity. We are expecting to get your honest comments on this blog.

DONT BE DISCOURAGED

MTN came to Nigeria at a time when nobody wanted to invest in Nigeria, at a time when Nigerians did not have phones. Even Zenith Bank refused to loan MTN cash to operate, UBA rejected MTN’s offer but today see the difference.

At least we all know the story of the only civilian-elected President in Nigeria - Goodluck Jonathan. We know how the people said he was not going to be President; they even made him acting-President. Today the rest is history.

What about Cowbell? When they came to Nigeria, they made milk in a sachet, Peak was laughing at them- they said Cowbell was milk for the poor- but they were right! 3-million poor people could afford N10 a day for a sachet of milk.
Oya, do the maths - 3million people buying milk at N10.00- that was N30million every single day.

In a month they grossed N900 million (almost N1billion). Even Peak had to make sachet milk in order to survive in the market.

So what have people told you? What have they said you cannot do, or you do not qualify for, or you do not have experience for? They told Cowbell, they told Goodluck, they told MTN, but today the story has changed.

I have a feeling that something is changing for you today! They will change their strategies just to keep in step with you.

Don’t listen to what people are saying or what life is showing you… YES, YOU CAN !

Do have a Positive Day... Success is not about where you graduated from, but what graduates out of you. Keep the spirit. There is a giant in you, sleeping because you have not woken him up.

CELESTIAL YOUTH AND HER HYMNAL EFFICACY

Honestly speaking the continuity of any generation lies critically on the efficiency and commitment of her youth to the vision of that generation. Considering the church established by the power of the blood of Jesus called Celestial Church of Christ, her youth must be rooted in the Word of God to appreciate her vision and hymnal value.

The epitome of Celestial hymns emanated from 2Peter 1: 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

These hymns are rendered by the prophet and prophetess as directed by the Holy Spirit. The mystery and uniqueness of Celestial hymns is that they were not rehearsed, orchestrated or rhetoric but in various forms as Holy Spirit gave them utterances to serve their purposes. 

They are designated for blessing, protection, thanksgiving, victory as weapons of warfare, as well as praises to the Lord. The Holy Spirit that wrote the Bible equally sent those hymns to His church that is why every stanza of it originated from the scriptures. Those that are spiritually minded will understand the power and the works of spiritual songs.

Ephesians 5: 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; The beauty of these songs will manifest when they were sung with the right state of mind. Instead, people dance them away like orchestrated songs hence negates its purpose and objectives, forgetting that they have heavenly Hosts backing.

For instance  CCC Hymn 18  { Romans 6 : 1 , 10 :9 } that is meant for confession, forgiveness and repentance and call for sober reflect and utmost remorse you will see people  singing and dancing away the song without compunction; what a pity? I will mention a little of Celestial songs or hymns that complement the bible favourably:

The youth of the Church must be soaked in the Word of God, if they are to take the mantle of leadership of the church as at when due and to be able to defend their heritage in the time of challenges and from any aggression.

I MADE A MISTAKE, SEYI SOLAGBADE

In the late 80s till 90s, Central Choir of the Celestial Church of Christ was the rave of the moment and Seyi Solagbade was an integral part even as he was a lead vocal in an album waxed by National Headquarters, Makoko.

For some time, little or nothing was heard about him in the church while he was moving from one country to another with his band. In this interview, Seyi disclosed he made some mistakes but God has remained faithful. Excerpts:

Starting out young

I was born into Celestial Church of Christ. I started playing music from the early 80’s as a choir boy, doing it then for the fun of an omo oluso agutan; you must take part in church activities. That was how I met myself in music industry, thank God, He make it so easy that every person I work with right from my tender age are professionals; professors of music, scholars and producers. I meet them in the church and they discovered me.

Ploy to woo God

I believe only in the God of Celestial but I forgot that this world is spiritual and you have to tackle likewise. Celestial Church of Christ is a special church; if you don’t follow the rules and tenets, the church cannot progress and it requires every individual in the church.

Between 2000 and 2007, there were lots of opportunity for me to push my music internationally but it was not really profitable until I eventually hearken to the call. Then I did another album called No King As God just to bribe God in a way because I’ve heard revelations from God which I didn’t believe at first.

When I did the album, God knew I was just using it as a bribe and not that I really wanted to come back which I knew myself. But right now am passionately coming back to church not only for Celestians but Christendom to send the message of God and salvation to all men through my music - gospel music.

His mistake

At a time, I was somehow discouraged as a chorister; no assistance, nobody cares about your welfare, education or feeding. Everybody will just come to church, enjoy the music and go without giving anything back to where they are receiving blessings from.

That was what really made me to move out of gospel line completely but I did not know that it was a big mistake for me to make that stupid decision. I now discovered that it’s stupid because help cannot come from man without God’s approval.

Since then I have not been able to grab something meaningful although I always travel to different countries for shows but because the calling is different and I deviated by choosing my own call, things are not so palatable.

Secular music

In the classification of music, have Islamic and Christian music. It is under Islamic music that we have Fuji but in Christian music, there are lots of things that you must not do that we are doing now.

Secularity is prominent in Christendom right now because of the changes in the entertainment world where nonsense make sense to people. Am a celestial member so I will use it as a case study.

I stopped attending celestial concert because one or two churches I visited in Lagos and Ibadan, I discovered that the choir was singing Fuji and playing tungba.

Most churches still play it, not only during harvest or concert, during service so they do not follow the tenets anymore. They are not following sequence of service, people are not conscious of worship anymore.

Future plans

I don’t want to go to Imeko just anyhow because am planning to do a mega show most especially on the 24th of December for the youth. I call it back to the root.

It’s a revolution trying to tell people that this is the way they do things; you have to show it to them in a standard way, those are the plan I have for now.

Cancellation of concert

I don’t think that will be the major solution; they don’t need to cancel it but to checkmate those Oluso Agutans (the shepherds). If the shepherds can put their feet down, nobody will dare him because many of the new generation shepherds are concerned about money.

Go to those gospel churches you can’t find those things, although they are business centre churches and not spiritually inclined.  They have sense of making money through manipulation and definitely through that manipulation, they will take you to God and drain your pocket.

My own problem with the youth is this: Who told you that you are the leaders of tomorrow when you cannot control the present? The youths are supposed to be the key to the future. They should be able to sit down and think.

LESSONS OF LIFE

Leave my husband!

As an undergraduate with different types of friends, Susan was faced with pressure from friends to toe their line in order to be able to meet up with the ‘happening babes’ on campus but she had so many things to consider in making up her mind.

She is from a strict Christian home with low income and to make matters worse (according to her), she is the first of five children which means she must make ends meet at all cost to be able to fend for her younger ones in life.

The benefits outweigh the risk, so she joined Rita and Funmi to have fun. Susan started living a double life with different wardrobes for campus and home. At home, she is the obedient and bible-clutching daughter of a clergy man but becomes a disgrace on campus.

Susan did not stop at dating three young men at the same time, she also had affair with married men to the chagrin of the friends who introduced her to this wayward life style. Her study started suffering; a first class student gradually dropped to third class.

In her second year, Susan informed her parents she was going to Kaduna State for a compulsory field work where as she wanted to accompany Bode (one of her boyfriends) on a business trip to Dubai.

She returned with goodies to the envy of her friends but it was short-lived. Bode’s wife came calling at the campus with two hefty looking men who beat the daylight out of her with a warning to stay away from Bode.

The embarrassment was so much that her friends started avoiding her. To make matters worse, she took ill, went home and returned weeks later looking pale and emaciated. The rumour started going round that she must had contracted a sexually transmitted disease.

It became difficult for her to concentrate in class even as her ‘benefactors’ abandoned her. To be able to really rest, Susan made up her mind to spend some weekends at home but, on one of such, her mother invited her to a church programme in a nearby town.

During the programme, she ran into Tope (another boyfriend of hers) and tried to avoid him but he came after her beside her mother. “You this shameless girl, so you are still running after other people’s husband? The beating that Bode’s wife gave you will be nothing compared with what I will do to you if you don’t stay away from Tope,” a woman came to shout on her to everyone’s hearing.

 Her mother left awkwardly and could not tell her husband at home. Susan went back to campus, locked herself up and cried herself to sleep. Susan had brought shame to her family, she lost respect on campus and her grades had deteriorated to the level that she is staring at an extra year.

Inner beauty: Do you have it?

The saying that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder is not all encompassing because it is actually referring to outer beauty which is pleasing to eyes whereas inner beauty shows our inner character, moral values and ethics.

A beautiful woman is not only admired for her physical appearance; she is admired for her inner qualities as well. There are many inner qualities that make a woman beautiful but we would focus on three important ones a woman should possess to make herself truly beautiful.

A woman should be kind—she should be gracious. Proverbs 11:16 tells us that a gracious woman retains honour. When you think of the women that you hold in high regard, they usually are ladies who are kind, gentle, thoughtful, unselfish, etc.

They are the women that we look up to and remember. In Proverbs 31:26, a virtuous woman is described as having the law of kindness on her tongue.

Some male writers made a revelation recently. “Women are astonished when we tell them what many professional men look for in a woman on the first date—besides chemistry, of course.

According to them, men like women who are nice. Men are suckers for kindness and consideration. Men love women who are affable, flexible and easygoing. Most men cannot resist a sweet woman Women who are gracious and kind are attractive.

A woman should also have good judgment. In Proverbs 11:22, a lovely woman who lacks discretion is compared to a ring of gold in a swine’s snout. If a woman is physically attractive, but lacks discretion, it takes away from her beauty and value.

Good judgment is needed in many areas of life such as moral issues, money matters, choices, decisions, dealing with others, work, etc. A woman who possesses good judgment is of great value because she can be trusted to do the right thing.

A woman should continue to grow and better her inner self. Proverbs 31 describes a woman who is competent and capable of doing many different things. A woman who continues to grow while developing her talents and abilities is a woman of value.

She is one who is able to contribute to others through these abilities, and she will be of use to her family, church, community, etc. A woman who is developing her potential is an attractive woman.
